One of the finest examples of this mission in action came alive through the Jalandhar Premier League (JPL) cricket tournament. Hosted by Vasal Education in collaboration with the District Administration, Jalandhar, the JPL cricket tournament became a shining symbol of using sports as a platform for social change.

Under the inspiring leadership of Sir Sanjeev Kumar Vasal, our Chairman and Mr. Raghav Vasal, CEO, whose vision and dedication have been central to the success of this initiative, the JPL cricket tournament became a beacon of hope and empowerment for young athletes. Their unwavering support fueled every step of this journey. The highlight of the JPL cricket tournament was the visit of celebrated Indian cricketer Mr. Harbhajan Singh.

The event’s significance was further elevated by the presence of distinguished chief guests, whose visits brought motivation and meaning to each day of the tournament.

The event was inaugurated by Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar on 28th October, 2025, who is known for initiating the impactful War Against Drugs campaign. He reinforced the shared motivation towards the strong collaboration between administration and educational institutions in nurturing responsible and active youth. We were also graced by IPS Officer Ms. Dhanpreet Kaur Randhawa, filling the air at the opening ceremony with a strong sense of community, duty and passion.

Shri Mohinder Bhagat, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister of Punjab, was invited as the Chief Guest on 31st October, 2025. He warmly interacted with the players, sharing motivating insights on the importance of staying true to oneself and your goals and appreciated the District Administration’s efforts. He also acknowledged our steadfast commitment to social responsibility, expressing deep gratitude towards the school, the students, the Principal Ma’am and the entire Vasal Education community. Mr. Bhagat graciously emphasized this shared commitment, underscoring the unified vision for empowering the next generation.

On 6th November, 2025, renowned Indian cricketer Mr. Harbhajan Singh honoured the event as Chief Guest. His presence electrified the atmosphere and inspired every young athlete to dream higher and work harder. Meeting a sports legend in person was a once-in-a-lifetime moment for many of the students present on the pitch, but it was his message that truly resonated within them.

Mr. Singh spoke passionately about how sports can shape a person’s character, teaching lessons in perseverance, discipline and humility. He applauded Vasal Education for channeling the power of cricket into social good His words reminded students that true success is earned through teamwork, consistency and values on and off the field.

His visit added a deeply motivational aspect to the event. As students interacted with him, they realized that heroes are made not just by skill but by purpose and dedication.
